HOBUCKEN - Albert Woodrow Arthur, 81, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at 
Britthaven of Pamlico.  
Mr. Arthur was a longtime member of Edward Christian Church and attended 
Lowland Pentecostal Holiness Church. He retired from Norfolk Southern 
Railroad Company. 
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Rowe Arthur and his 
stepson, Robert Henry Barnett.  
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Edward Christian Church with 
burial to follow in the church cemetery. 
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pollock-Best 
Funeral Home and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the church just before the 
funeral service. Following the funeral family and friends will gather at 
830 Aurora Road, Ernul.  
He is survived by his wife, Mary Barnett Arthur; two sons, Allen Arthur 
and wife, Janice, of New Bern and Larry Arthur and wife, Judy, of Ernul; 
two daughters, Belle Toler and husband, Tommy, of Ernul and Lucy Baker and 
husband, Joe, of Farmville; one stepson, Ray Barnett and wife, Jeri, of 
Aurora; two brothers, John D. Arthur of Bridgeton and Lenwood Arthur of 
West Virginia; one sister, Daisy Sutton, of Ernul; 17 grandchildren; 21 
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
