Obituary of Alexander "Alex" Mason ~ 2009

Alexander "Alex" Mason, 91, of Alliance, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at 
Craven Regional Medical Center.  
He was a member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church. He loved feeding 
the birds, gardening or just being outdoors. He had a love for horses as 
well.  
He loved his great-grandsons!  
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Gaskill and Edna Ireland.  
He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Catherine S. Mason; his 
daughter, Ann Mason of Bayboro; two grandchildren, Lucynda Lane and 
husband, Stephen, of Grantsboro and Loretta Hacker and husband, Brian, 
of Merritt; and three great-grandsons, Jarrett Hacker, Stephen Lane Jr. 
and Joshua Lane.  
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, at Bryant 
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Lewis officiating. Interment will 
follow in Sandhill Cemetery.    
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant 
Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 264 Mill Pond Road.
