Obituary of Alexander "Slim" Styron ~ 2002

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Alexander "Slim" Styron, 58, of 111 Bridge St. died 
Saturday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.  
He was a native of Oriental, a 1963 graduate of Pamlico Central High 
School, a member of Little Willow's Mite Church, Manhattan, N.Y., serving 
as a Deacon. He was employed as a cab operator.  
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 
Oriental, with the Rev. Serinus G. Willis Sr. officiating, and the Rev. 
Willie Cooper, eulogizing.  
Burial will be in St. Stephen Church Cemetery.  
He is survived by his mother, Annie Pearl Styron of Oriental; one son, 
Shawn L. Styron of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter, Kimberly S. Brown of 
Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, James E. Styron of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two 
sisters, Doris S. Manuel of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Elsie J. Styron of 
Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at his mother's home, Annie Pearl Styron, 
467 Styron Town Rd., Oriental.  
Viewing will be from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday at Oscar's Mortuary, Inc.
