Obituary of Alfred Dewey Jones ~ 2006

BAYBORO - Alfred Dewey Jones, 85, died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Craven 
Regional medical Center.  
Mr. Jones worked for many years as a bridge operator leader at the Hobucken
Bridge. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy and was a 
member of the VFW. He was a member of Alliance United Methodist Church and
 was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Mayo Fentress Jones.  
He is survived by a son, Bill Fentress and wife, Susan, of New Bern; a 
daughter, Betty Fentress of Huntersville; his sister, Sybil Jones 
Shewmaker of Jerome, ID; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Fentress; nephews, 
Alfred James Shewmaker, Tom Shewmaker, Jeff Shewmaker and Bill Shewmaker, 
all of Jerome, ID; and niece, Debbie Shewmaker of Jerome, ID.  
A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 18 at 11:00 am at 
Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating. 
Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. 
The family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home from 7:00 pm to 
8:30 pm on Tuesday.
