Alice Marie Anderson Hardison, 82, of Arapahoe, passed away peacefully,
Thursday morning, June 7, 2007, at Britthaven of Pamlico.
Mrs. Hardison was born in Macon County, N.C., on July 6, 1924. She was
raised on a family farm and was the daughter of the late Colonel and
Bessie Thomas Anderson. She had been a resident of Arapahoe since 1946.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Walter “Tuffy” Hardison, and her
son, Joel Lee Hardison.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Hardison Bissette, of Arapahoe; and
one son, James B. Hardison of Arapahoe. She is also survived by four
grandchildren, Wendy Pollard of Edenton, N.C., Jason Hardison of Arapahoe,
Brenda Hardison of Raleigh and Amanda Bissette of Raleigh; and four great-
grandchildren, Joelle Moore, Christian Moore, Jayden Pollard of Edenton
and Samantha Hardison of Arapahoe.
Mrs. Hardison was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Arapahoe, where
she loved to sing in the choir. She loved sewing, quilting, poetry,
reading, and gardening. She was a volunteer of Christian Aid.
A celebration of her life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007, at
Bethany Christian Church of Arapahoe.
Visitation with family will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007, at
Bethany Christian Church of Arapahoe following will be church service.
Burial will be at Hardison Family Cemetery.
