REELSBORO - Alonza Davis, 73, of 206 Fox Wood Trail in the community of 
Reelsboro died June 7 at Craven Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service was held Saturday, June 14, 2 pm, at New Bern Eastern 
Missionary Baptist Association Headquarters in Grantsboro with the Rev. 
Victor Smith and the Rev. Hubert Judon. Burial was in Bethel Missionary 
Baptist Cemetery in Merritt.
He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and served on the 
trustee and usher boards.
He is survived by his wife, Ada Mattocks Davis of the home; one son, 
Solomon Henderson of Greensboro; two brothers, Johnny Davis of Merritt and 
Luke Davis of Queens, NY; three sisters, Nancy Avery of Stonewall, Shirley 
Jones of Arapahoe and Campie Merritt of Philadelphia, PA.
