Obituary of Alvin Lee Powell ~ 2009

REELSBORO - Alvin Lee Powell, 53, of 2384 Lee Landing Road, died Monday, 
Dec. 1, 2009.  
He was a graduate of the New York School System and resided in Florida, 
employed as a bicycle mechanic prior to relocating to North Carolina. He 
was well known by the residents of Pamlico County.  
A funeral service will be held in Brooklyn, N.Y., with arrangements by 
Arthur Brown & Sons Funeral Home.   
He is survived by his mother, Helen Chestnut of Stonewall; three brothers, 
Curtis Powell Jr. of Alliance, Darnell Powell and Marrell Powell, both of 
Brooklyn, N.Y.; and four sisters, Denise McKelvey of Bayboro, Josephine 
Powell, Theresa Powell and Linda Anderson, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.  
A viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. today at Oscar's Memorial Chapel.  
Local arrangements are by Oscar's Mortuary.
