Barbara Louise Wethington Avery, 44, of 502 Bell Lane, Bayboro, died 
Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at her residence.  She was a 1981 graduate of 
Pamlico County High School, a former employee of Charlie’s Restaurant and 
a member of St. Mark AME Zion Church.  The funeral will be at noon Friday 
at St. Mark AME Zion Church with the Rev. Bobby Simmons officiating. 
Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, 
Alton Ray Avery Sr. of Bayboro; her mother, Lula Wethington of Bayboro; 
one son, Steven Squires of Bayboro; four daughters, Antoinetta Squires, 
Renee Squires and Janay Squires, all of the home, and Vanessa Squires of 
New Bern; one brother, David Wethington Jr. of Washington, D.C.; one 
sister, Jacqueline Kelly of Columbus, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
