Benjmain Allen Carawan, 62, of NewBern, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at
home.  
He is survived by two sons: Ben Carawan, Jr. and Curtis Carawan; one daughter, 
Frances P. Carawan; two sisters: Sharon Anderson and Phyllis Rowe; and six 
grandchildren.  
Funeral services were held November 16 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with 
the Rev. H.M. Parson officiating.  
Burial was in Carawan Cemetery in Lowland.  
The family received friends prior to the service at the funeral home.
