Beulah L. Bruce, 56, died Oct. 3, 1999. Mrs. Bruce was born in Hobucken, 
N.C., to the late Mr. Virgil M. Lupton and the late Violet Leary Lupton.
Mrs. Bruce is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard E. Bruce; a 
daughter, Theresa Thorne and her husband, Richard Thorne Jr., of 
Chesapeake; a son, Darrell Bruce of Ohio; three sisters, Lucy Guthrie and 
Elizabeth Campen, both of Swansboro, N.C., and Hellene Glazebrook of 
Leland, N.C.; three brothers, Earl Lupton of Newport News, Clifton Lupton 
of Hobucken and Jasper Lupton of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren, Kelly 
and Erin Thorne of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Twiford 
Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Burton Robinson officiating. 
Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive 
friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Twiford Funeral Home,
Colonial Chapel Great Bridge, is handling the arrangements.
