HOBUCKEN - Birma Lee Alcock, 88, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at Craven
Regional Medical Center. She taught school in the Pamlico County School
System for 37 years. She was a member of Hobucken United Methodist Church
and attended Vandemere United Methodist Church. A funeral service was
held Thursday, December 9, 2004 at 11:00 am at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Michael Roach and the Rev. Claude Nethercutt officiating.
Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery. The family received friends at Bryant
Funeral Home from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the funeral
and other times at the home of Frank and Hazel Alcock, 881 Lowland Road,
Hobucken. Mrs. Alcock was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alcock,
Jr. and is survived by one son, Frank Alcock and wife Hazel of Hobucken;
one daughter, Mary Lee Pearson and husband Charles of Charleston, SC; one
brother, Harry Lee, Sr. of Arapahoe; two sisters, Bessie Parsons of
Arapahoe and Reba Babb of Holly Springs, NC; four grandchildren, Charles
Pearson, III and wife Beverly of Charleston, Jason Lee Pearson and wife
Christi of Charleston, Kim Alcock Peed and husband Scott of Alliance and
Frankie Alcock and wife Jennifer of New Bern; and six great-grandchildren,
Taylor Pearson, Brooke Pearson, Evan Pearson, Kristin Peed, Kara Peed and
Caleb Alcock. Arrangements by Bryant Funeral Home and Cremations, Alliance.
