Blanche Dixon Gaskins, 73, of the Antioch community, passed away on Tuesday, 
November 11, 2008. 
Born in Pamlico County on October 11, 1935, to the late Ralph L. and Lula 
Pipkin Dixon, Mrs. Gaskins was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and 
grandmother. She was also a member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church.  
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lakeside Chapel 
at Greenleaf Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry English officiating.  
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Luther Earl Gaskins of New 
Bern; two daughters, Martha Elaine McCumbee and husband, Mitchell, of New 
Bern and Mona G. Strickland and husband, Bill, of Dudley; one son, Lloyd 
Earl Gaskins and wife, Sheila, of New Bern; eleven grandchildren; and ten 
great-grandchildren.
