Obituary of Bonnie Willis Humphrey ~ 2007

Ms. Bonnie Willis Humphrey, 84, of Arapahoe died Saturday at Craven 
Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of the Arapahoe FWB Church. 
She taught school at the Arapahoe School for more than 27 years. She also 
owned and operated Humphrey’s Supermarket in Alliance.  
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Arapahoe FWB Church, 
with the Rev. Tommy Bulla officiating. Interment will be at the Paul 
Cemetery in Arapahoe.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Humphrey Sr.; grandson, 
R.M. Humphrey III; one brother, Lockwood Willis; and one sister, Sina Mayo.
She is survived by her son, Roland Humphrey and wife, Eva, of Arapahoe; 
two brothers, Lloyd Willis of Bayboro and Morris Willis of Arapahoe; two 
grandchildren, Wendy Humphrey Mayo and husband, Ernest, of Wilmington, and 
Jeffrey Humphrey of Raleigh; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and 
Nickolas Mayo of Wilmington.  
The family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home on Monday night 
from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of Roland and Eva 
Humphrey, 5263 Kershaw Rd., Oriental.  
Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home, Alliance.
