NEW BERN - Carl Clifton Dixon, Sr., 80, of New Bern died Monday, June 6 at 
Craven Regional Medical Center. 
A funeral service was held Thursday, June 9, 11 am, at St. Mary's Free Will
Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Simmons and the Rev. T.O. Terry 
officiating. Burial was in the Sandhill Cemetery in Reelsboro with 
Military Honors.
He was a member of St. Mary's Free Will Baptist Church, a US Army WWII 
veteran and retired from Western Southern Insurance Company.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Swindell Dixon; one son, Carl "C.D." 
Dixon, Jr. of Reelsboro; one daughter, Barbara Dixon Edwards of Reelsboro; 
one brother, Merrian Dixon of Aurora; and four granddaughters.
