Obituary of Carol Jackson Brinson ~ 2004

GRANTSBORO - Mr. Carol Jackson Brinson, 79, of 1377 Highway 306 S., died 
Monday, February 2, 2004 at Craven Regional Medical Center. 
He was a member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church where he served 
as honorary deacon. He was also a member of the VFW of Pamlico and was 
retired from Cherry Point and Bryant Funeral Home.  Mr. Carol, as he was 
so affectionately known, was a man dedicated first of all to his Lord and 
secondly to his family, and then to his many friends. His devotion and 
character was a trait that in today’s world has been a tremendous influence
on those who knew him and his life will never be forgotten by those who loved 
and cared for him.
He is survived by his wife, Frances W. Brinson; one son, Gary Brinson and 
wife, Sharon, of Alliance; one daughter, Phyllis Ethel of Grantsboro; two 
brothers, Melvin Earl Brinson and Clyde Brinson, both of Grantsboro; three 
grandchildren, Kim Brinson Potter, Megan Leigh Brinson and Freddie Ethel III; 
and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Potter and Dylan Jackson Potter.  
A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, February 4 at 11:00 am at 
Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nelson Koonce officiating with 
burial in the Grantsboro Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm 
on Tuesday, February 3 and other times at his home.
