GREENSBORO - Carrie Louise Nelson McAdams Ford passed away peacefully
Sunday, March 27, 2011. Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Christ United Methodist Church followed by
interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
She was born in Oriental in Pamlico County and the daughter of Harvey and
Sadie Nelson. She had a wonderful childhood growing up in Oriental and
made many lifelong friends. She graduated from Oriental High School and
attended Louisburg College. She then supported our troops while working
at Cherry Point during WWII.
She then moved to Greensboro where she met and married the love of her
life, husband T.A. McAdams. They were proud to be charter members of
Christ United Methodist Church where she was a long time member of Circle
7. She loved her family and had a special compassion for all animals and
their welfare. She spent many fun hours playing golf with her friends,
the "Gay Niners" at Starmount, reinventing the game of golf.
After the passing of her first husband, she was blessed with her marriage
to long time friend Louis E. Ford (Lou).
She was preceded in death by her husbands, T.A. McAdams Jr. and Louis E.
Ford.
She is survived by her children, Janis McAdams Bush and her husband, Marc,
of Greensboro, Thomas Addison McAdams III and his wife, Laura, of the
Cayman Islands, Julie McAdams Dorn and her husband, John, of Summerfield;
grandchildren, Mary Alyson and Hayley Ann Bush, Kristina McAdams Stickler,
Megan Elizabeth, Jennifer Lynn, and Thomas Addison McAdams IV; John
Addison Dorn; and three great-granddaughters.
