Obituary of Carolyn "Carrie" Lupton Lewis ~ 2003

HOBUCKEN - Carolyn "Carrie" Lupton Lewis, died Monday, March 3 at Craven 
Regional Medical Center. 
She was a member of Lowland Pentecostal Holiness Church, a graduate of 
Hobucken High School in 1936 and was Goose Creek Island's Avon Lady for 30 
years.  
Her husband, Walter R. Lewis, and a granddaughter, Penelope Anne Autry, 
preceded her in death.  
She is survived by four sons, Freddie R. Lewis and wife, Ronda, of 
Hobucken, Allen O. Lewis and wife, Linda, of Hobucken, Roy W. Lewis of 
California and Lynn C. Lewis of Hobucken; two daughters, Anne Penberthy 
of California and Phyllis Price and husband, Gerald, of Grantsboro; two 
sisters, Margie Whitfield of Reelsboro and Myra Edwards of Edward; eight 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  
A graveside service was held at 2:30 pm on Friday, March 7 in the Barnett 
Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Lewis officiating.  
The family received friends at Bryant Funeral Home from 7 pm to 8 pm on 
Thursday, March 6.
