HOBUCKEN – Charity Gaskill Dowdy, 86, died Monday, February 23 at Craven 
Regional Medical Center. 
A graveside service was held Wednesday, February 24, 11 am, at Barnett 
Cemetery with Elder Joe Sawyer officiating.  
She is survived by two daughters, Ila D. Leary of Hobucken and Lois D. 
Wells of Grifton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tollie A. Dowdy, one son, A.J. 
Dowdy and a daughter, Barbara J. Dowdy.  
Arrangements by Bryant Funeral Home and Cremations in Alliance.
