Charles Milton Speight, 66, of Grantsboro, died Saturday at Craven Regional
Medical Center.  
He was a member of the Gethsemane Free Will Baptist Church in Tuscaroro. 
He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and farmed for many years. 
He later worked for New Bern Oil and Fertilizer Co. in Grantsboro and 
retired from the Pamlico County Water Department.  
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Mon- day at Pollock-Wells & Best Funeral 
Home Chapel with his cousin Reverend Mike Scott officiating. Burial will 
follow in Greenleaf Memorial Park.  
He is survived by his widow, Lelar Tyndall Speight; son, Tony Speight of 
Grantsboro; daughter and son-in- law, Teresa and Gregory Harris of 
Grantsboro; mother, Delilah Wetherington Speight of Grantsboro; sister and 
brother-in-law, Irene and Donald Ward of Cove City; two very special 
grandchildren, Rebekah Rose "Pumpkin" Harris and Travis Charles "T" Harris,
both of Grantsboro.  
The family will receive friends at Pollock-Wells & Best Funeral Home, 
7-8:30 Sunday and other times at the home, 306 North in Grantsboro.
