GRANTSBORO - Chester E. Lewis, 85, died Monday, April 19, at Craven 
Regional Medical Center. 
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, 2 pm, at Bryant 
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Windham officiating with burial 
in Lowland Community Cemetery, conducted by Pamlico County VFW Post 8094 
with military honors.  He was a lifetime member of Pamlico County VFW Post 
8094 and was affiliated with the Primitive Baptist faith.  
He is survived by his wife, Viola C. Lewis; one son, Dale Lewis of 
Grantsboro; two daughters, Carla Windham of Nashville, NC and Wanda L. 
Harper of Alliance; one brother, Wilmer Lewis of Lowland; one sister, Ila 
Pettway of Norfolk, VA; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two 
great-grandchildren.
