Obituary of Dan Elworth Roach ~ 2005

CLAYROOT - Mr. Dan Elworth Roach, 82, went home to be with the Lord on
Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson
Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial
Park.
Mr. Roach, a native of Pamlico County, lived most of his life in the
Clayroot community. He continued to make his home on the family farm
throughout his life and farmed until his retirement in 1984. He was a
member of the Berean Baptist Church near Ayden. He was preceded in death
by his parents, Dan and Maude Roach and a sister, Althea Venters.
Surviving, his wife of 61 years, Doris Boyd Roach; daughters, Patsy R.
Forrest and husband, Ricky, of Clayroot and Sheryl R. Cayton of Black
Jack; son, Bobby Roach and wife, Linda, of Hudson's Crossroads; sister,
Mary Flannery of New Bern; brother-in-law, Melvin H. Boyd and wife, Doris,
of Winterville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four step-
grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home today from 7 to
9 p.m.
