Dennis W. Jones Sr., 68, of 8355 N.C. Highway 304, Mesic, died Monday, 
June 2, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center.  
He graduated from Pamlico County Training School and was a retiree of the 
New York City Transit Authority. He was a member of the Mesic town board. 
He was an audiovisual technician at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 
where he was a member of the trustee board, the Willing Workers and the 
Van Ministry.  
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Mount Olive Missionary 
Baptist Church with the Rev. C.A. Felton Jr. officiating.  
He is survived by his wife, Charity Lovetta Ollison Jones of the home; 
daughter, Colette Denise Jones Rogers of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, 
Ethel Jones and Alice Jones of Brooklyn, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 
one great-granddaughter.  
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 1 
to 6 p.m. Friday, June 6, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at
Oscar's Mortuary and an hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.
