Obituary of Dennis "Mad Dog" Banks McCotter ~ 1998

Dennis Banks McCotter, 54, of 308 Fenton St., Raleigh, NC., died Sunday, 
October 11, 1998 in Rex Hospital.  
"Mad Dog", as he was known to his friends, was born in Arapahoe, NC on 
June 28, 1944. 
He was the son of the late Ralph H. and Neva Banks McCotter.  
He graduated from Pamlico County High School in 1962 and from Atlantic 
Christian College in 1966.  
During the Vietnam War, Dennis served as a Second Lieutenant of the 18th 
Airborne Corp, Artillery Division, of the U.S. Army. He then moved to 
Raleigh, where he was a Realtor with Prudential Carolinas Realty for ten 
years. He was also a member of the VFW and enjoyed sailing, boating, and 
fishing.  
Surviving are his wife, Linda Glover McCotter of the home; one brother, 
Ralph H. McCotter of Lake Worth, FL.  
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 14, 1998 
at Bethany Christian Church in Arapahoe, NC by Rev. Merritt Watson. 
Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern, NC.  
Active pallbearers will be Watson Hale, David Suits, Pete Craig, Lawrence 
Tucker, Wimpy Belangia and Mark Wilson.
