AURORA, NC - Donald Vincent Brousard, age 83, a resident of 510 South 5th
Street in Aurora, NC, died in the Two Rivers Health Care Facility in New
Bern on Sunday, April 13, 2003.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 at 3 pm at
the South Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Phillip
Lewis.
The family greeted friends at Paul Funeral Home in Washington on Monday,
April 14 from 7 pm until 8:30 pm and at other times at his home in Aurora.
Mr. Brousard was a native of Matagora, Texas, born there June 2, 1919. He
moved to Beaufort County in the early 1960’s along with Dr. Leo Miller in
the early days of Texasgulf Sulphur Co., now PCS. He served in numerous
positions with Texasgulf, among them being a mining foreman. He was a
Methodist and a Mason and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was married first to Doris Brousard, who preceded him in death and on
October 2, 1988 he married the former Elizabeth “Libby” Mercer who survived.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Natalie B. Morton and Donna B.
Spain, both of Pamlico County; three sons, Donald V. Brousard, Jr. of
Greenville and Douglas Brousard and Dana Brousard, both of Aurora;
stepchildren, Douglas Oakley of Greenville and Paulette Oakley of Blounts
Creek; two grandchildren raised in his home, Kerry Glenn Brousard of
Raleigh and Yevette Rogers of Pamlico County.
He is also survived by a number of other grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Paul Funeral Home of Washington is serving the
Brousard family.
