ORIENTAL - Dorothy Browne Detwiler, 96, of 2701 Amhurst Blvd, New Bern, 
died Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Detwiler was a past member of the Oriental Women's Club as well as 
the Pamlico Republican Women.
She moved from Brightwaters, N.Y., to Boynton Beach, Fla., and then to 
Oriental, where she resided for 12 years. While living in Florida, she was 
a member of Boynton Beach Civil Service Board and was the chairman of the 
Palm Beach County Republican Headquarters.
Her husband, Edwin Detwiler, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothea Osmun and husband, Richard, of 
Oriental; one grandchild, Jennifer White and husband, Joshua, of Raleigh; 
and two great-grandchildren, Brandon White and Rebecca White of Raleigh.
Memorial services will be held at the Oriental United Methodist Church on 
Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Walter Graves 
officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the 
church fellowship hall. Arrangements by Bryant Funeral Home and Cremations, 
Alliance.
