WEST CHESTER, PA. - Dwight W. Durham, 85, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at 
Bellingham. He was the husband of the late Beatrice Blackwell Durham, with
whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Stonewall, N.C., he was the 
son of the late Rev. Ernest C. and Roberta Womble Durham. He graduated 
from John Graham High School in Warrenton, N.C., and N.C. State University 
with a degree in chemistry. Dwight started his career as a chemist with 
E.I. DuPont Co. in Wilmington, N.C. During World War II, he became a 
recruiter of chemists in the human resources division in the Nemours 
Building, retiring in 1976. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church 
for five years and former member of Church of the Covenant, Wilmington, 
for more than 30 years. During retirement he attended Landrum Presbyterian 
Church, Landrum, S.C. He was an avid golfer and a member of DuPont Country 
Club. 
Dwight is survived by his son, Wayne B. Durham of West Chester daughter, 
Anne Blatz of Brewster, Mass. sisters, Nell Lyles of Rocky Mount, N.C., 
and Ruth Arden Greene of Raleigh, N.C. 10 grandchildren and four 
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard D. Durham.
The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at First 
Presbyterian Church, 130 W. Miller St., West Chester. Relatives and 
friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial gifts
