ARAPAHOE - Earl Blango, Sr., 73, of 1712 Don Lee Rd., Arapahoe, died
Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at his residence.
He was a native of Pamlico County and was employed at Camp Seagull for 39
years and inducted into the Camp Sea Gull Hall of Fame in 1999. He was a
member of Piney Grove Disciples of Christ Church.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Piney Grove
Church of Christ Disciples of Christ Church with the Rev. Lester Mitchell,
officiating. The burial will be in the Earl Blango Cemetery.
He is survived by his two sons, Earl Blango, Jr. of Aurora and Randolph
Blango of the home; four daughters, Diane Thomas of Arapahoe, Laura Andrews
of New Bern, Frances Wright of Arapahoe and Elizabeth Musgrove of Little
Rock, Texas; eight brothers Roosevelt Johnson, Otto Johnson, Jr., Bubba
Johnson, Winston Johnson, Edward Dixon of Oriental, James Dixon, Jr. of
Raleigh and Stanley Dixon of Oriental and Vincent Dixon of Maribel; three
sisters, Geneva Styron of Oriental, Alean Hodge of Arapahoe and Pauline
Gardner of Reelsboro; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be at Oscar's
Mortuary Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at the church one hour prior
to the service.
