Edward S. Grubb, 66, a retired Navy engineer, died of a heart ailment 
Sunday at Craven County Hospital in New Bern, N.C. 
Mr. Grubb worked here as a civilian aeronautical engineer with the Navy 
Department from 1945 until he retired in 1969.  
He then worked as a structural engineer for the Fairfax County department 
of environment management from 1969 until he retired a second time and 
moved to North Carolina in 1975.  
Mr. Grubb was born in Newport News, Va., and earned an engineering degree 
at St. Louis University. He moved here in 1945.  
Mr. Grubb was a charter member of the Springfield Golf and Country Club 
and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Springfield.  
He is survived by his wife, Frances, and a son, William S., of the home in 
Arapahoe, N.C., and another son, John S., serving aboard the carrier U.S.S.
Midway.  
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of 
contributions to the Edward S. Grubb Memorial Fund, c/o Wachovia Bank and 
Trust Co., Bayboro, N.C. The money will be used to purchase cardiac 
equipment for the Craven County Hospital.
