Ella Credle Jackson, 77, of 3005 Madison Ave., New Bern, died Tuesday, Aug.
8, 2007, at Two Rivers Healthcare-Neuse.  
She was a native of Pamlico County and lived in New Jersey and Florida 
until retirement in New Bern. She was a registered nurse and school 
volunteer. She was a member of Mt. Calvary M.B. Church.  
Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Calvary M.B. Church with the 
Rev. L.B. Kelsey officiating. Burial will be in Homer Fillmore Credle Sr. 
Cemetery in Mesic.  
She is survived by her son, Steven Jackson, Daytona Beach, Fla.; three 
daughters, Lillie Faye DeJournette, Central Islip, N.Y., Nancy Jackson and 
Rita J. Williams, both of New Bern; her brothers, Homer Credle Jr. of New 
Bern, Glenwood Credle and Herman Credle, both of Red Bank, N.J., Guy 
Credle of Neptune, N.J., and Samuel Whitehurst of Spotsylvania, Va.; her 
sisters, Ruby Sawyer of Maribel, Neva Branch of New Bern, Joyce O’Neal of
Mesic, Nettie Melvin of Tinton Falls, N.J., Laula Allen of Garner and 
Elnora Phillips of Manhattan, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren 
and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends at the 
residence. 
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at Oscar’s Mortuary and at 
the church an hour before the service Tuesday.
