NEW BERN - Emma Florene Jarvis Banks, 50, of 7A Arlington Circle, died 
Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at CarolinaEast Medical Center. 
She was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church and was employed in the Home 
Care Industry with Mesic Headstart and In Home Child Care.  
Her graveside service will be at noon, Monday at Mesic Memorial Cemetery 
with the Rev. Tony Credle officiating.  
She is survived by her son, Eugene Banks of New Bern; two daughters, 
Larissa Hawkins of New Bern and Eugenia Clark of Richmond, Va.; her father 
and stepmother, Fred and Hattie Davis of Oriental; five brothers, Craig 
Jones of Oriental, Major Roosevelt Dudley of Bayboro, Melvin Leon Dudley 
Jr. of New Bern, Leon Jones of Raleigh, and Fred Davis Jr. of Cheverly, 
Md.; sisters, Kathy Dudley Adams of Vanceboro, Gail Dudley of New Bern, 
Patricia Davis of Washington, D.C., and Dashay Jones of Vandemere; eight 
grandchildren; maternal grandmother, Alice Parker of Mesic; paternal 
grandfather, Wesley Davis of Alliance; and step-grandmother, Lovie Smith 
of Oriental.  
The family will greet friends Monday at Mesic Memorial Cemetery.  
Arrangements are by Oscar's Mortuary Inc.
