ORIENTAL - Emma G. Green, 83, of 903 Broad St., Oriental, died Saturday, 
Oct. 27, 2007, at Craven Regional Medical Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Oriental and a member of Pierce 
Chapel AME Zion Church, where she served as a deaconess. There she was a 
senior choir member, class leader and president of the Stewardess Board.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the Pierce Chapel AME Zion Church 
in Oriental with the Rev. James Cannon officiating. Burial will be in the 
Dozier family cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Howard Greene, Raymond Green and Byron 
Greene, all of Oriental; four daughters, Mary Ann Boone Johnson of Oriental, 
Margaret Fenderson of New Haven, Conn., Gail Moore of Oriental and Cernie 
Owusu Takyi of Raleigh; one sister, Flora Perry of Oriental; 25 
grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 9 
a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Oscar's Mortuary and one hour prior to service at 
the church.
