NEW BERN - Emma Hodges Pearsall, 66, 2915 Brunswick Ave. died Friday, Oct. 
15, 2010, at Carebridge Assisted Living Center.  
She was a native of Pamlico County and was a retired homemaker.  
Memorial services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen M. B. 
Church on Janiero Road in Oriental with the revs. Serinus Willis and 
Marcus Burton officiating. Burial will be in the St. Stephen Church 
Cemetery.  
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Holder of Raleigh; son, Anthony 
Hodges of New Bern; two brothers, Rev. Claude Davis of Oriental and Charlie
Hodges of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Margaret Lovick of Oriental, Mary 
Smith of Alliance, Algertha Smith of Oriental; and five grandchildren, and 
one great grandchild.  
The family will receive friends at the residence of Mary Smith 341 Halls 
Creek Road, Reelsboro.  
Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Oscar's Mortuary.
