NEW BERN - Ernest Ray Brinson, 72, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, 
at his residence.
A native of Pamlico County, he was born to Ernest Brinson and Clara Gaskill, 
both of whom preceded him in death, along with his sister, Laura B. Sawyer.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Locklair Brinson; two sons, Charles 
Ernest Brinson and wife, Michelle and Rondald Ray Brinson; one stepson, 
Todd Lee Hargett; three stepdaughters, Teresa Highsmith and husband Kenny, 
Tina Lee and Talena Eagan; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and 
father-in-law, Foster Locklair.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Bryant 
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Dixon officiating. Masonic Rites 
by Doric Lodge No. 568. 
The family received friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requested memorial contributions be made to 
Community Home Hospice, 1423 S. Glenburnie Road, Suite A, New Bern, NC 28562.
