Obituary of Esther Lupton Kane ~ 2002

Mrs. Esther Lupton Kane, affectionately known as "Tiny," died Monday at 
Craven Regional Medical Center at the age of 69. 
A registered nurse for many years, she was a graduate of Norfolk General 
School of Nursing and East Carolina University. She served as a nurse for 
the New Bern City School System and later retired from the Craven County 
Health Department. Mrs. Kane was also a member of Saint Paul Catholic 
Church. 
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Paul Catholic 
Church with Monsignor James R. Jones officiating. 
Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. 
She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Kane of New Bern; her daughter, 
Anne Kane Pontiff of New Bern; her mother, Esther Spain Lupton of Lowland; 
one sister, Annie Coughlin of Marshfield, MA; two brothers, George A. 
Lupton Jr. of Arapahoe, and John R. Lupton of Wilmington; and one 
granddaughter, Kelsey Anne Pontiff of New Bern. 
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the 
funeral home.
