Obituary of Ethel O. Ackerman ~ 2006

Ethel O. Ackerman, age 86, died on July 8, 2006, after an extended illness.
Ethel is survived by her loving husband, Stewart Ackerman; three children, 
Stewart Ackerman Jr. of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Duke Ackerman of 
Castine, Maine, and Lynn Mullany of Gainesville, Virginia. Ethel is also 
survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Ethel was a 
resident of Oriental for more than 20 years during which time she was 
active in the Pamlico Chorale, Oriental Women’s Club, Hospice of Pamlico 
and other volunteer activities. She enjoyed her family, gardening, sailing 
and travel.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at 
11 a.m. at the Oriental United Methodist Church and will be conducted by 
Dr. George Duffie and organist Byard Bridge. The family will greet visitors
following the service.  Arrangements by Bryant Funeral Home.
