ORIENTAL - Ethel White Whorton, 82, died Tuesday, April 5 at Craven 
Regional Medical Center. 
A funeral service was held Thursday, April 7 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel 
with the Rev. Owen Peele and the Rev. Richard Baldwin officiating. 
Burial was in Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.  
She is survived by one son, Adrian Whorton of Whortonsville; two daughters,
Amy Spruill of Oriental and Judy Rutherford of New Bern; one sister, Dora 
Rolison of New Bern; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 
one great-great-grandchild.
