SUFFOLK - Eutha Gray Phipps Diggs, 66, of the 1300 block of Wilroy Road, 
died Dec. 22, 2001, in her residence.
A native of Pamlico County, N.C., she was in quality control at General 
Electric Corp. in Portsmouth and later was a warehouse supervisor at 
Onderwater Corp. Mrs. Phipps was the daughter of the late Arthur Phipps 
and Ollie Fornes Phipps, she was predeceased by a sister, Elva Gammon and 
two brothers, Owen C. Phipps and Joseph B. Phipps.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin E. "Sonny" Diggs of Suffolk; 
daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki D. and Daniel Visocsky of Jacksonville, 
N.C., Patricia "Patty" D. and David Beale of Suffolk, and Susan Diggs 
and Henry "Bubba" Crocker of Suffolk; grandchildren, Daniel R. Visocsky II 
and wife Romona, Michael E. Visocsky and wife Anna, Charles A. Visocsky, 
David C. Beale, Jennifer N. Beale and Kayla G. Diggs; a great-grandson, 
Manuel "Manny" Visocsky; sisters, Naomi Hall of Washington, N.C., and 
Margie Starling of Columbia, S.C.; brothers, Robert Phipps of New Bern, 
N.C., William Phipps of Hialeah, Fla.; and her faithful pet, Freckles.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Harrell and Hill Funeral 
Home by the Rev. J.T. Scott. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Mausoleum. 
Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral
 home and other times at the residence, 1332 Wilroy Road. Memorials may 
be made to the American Cancer Society, 902 Pennsylvania Ave., Suffolk, 
VA 23434.
