Eva Belle Carmady Brinson of Grantsboro, died May 8, 2009.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Vance Burton Brinson Sr.; her
children, Burt (Gayle) Brinson of Salisbury, Doyle (Linda) Brinson of
Southport, Joan (Chris) Dressler of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Lee
(Julianna) Brinson of Chapel Hill, Hilary (Chris) Wilkes of New York City,
Scott Brinson of Fayetteville, and Jeb Brinson of Wilmington; and her
great- grandchildren, Amelia and Noah Brinson of Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Brinson was born in Janeiro on Jan. 21, 1926, to Rumley and Eva Dixon
Carmady. Her brothers, Ray and Cecil and sister, Erma, predeceased her.
She graduated from Alliance High School and King's Business College. She
was the oldest member of Rock of Zion Free Will Baptist Church, having
joined in 1937. She was a loyal member of the Order of the Eastern Star,
Bayboro Chapter 189, which she served faithfully in many capacities,
including secretary for 40 years. She was devoted to her family, her
church and her community.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 10 at Bryant Funeral Home,
Alliance.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11 at Bryant Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Ray Lewis and the Rev. Robert Miller officiating.
Internment will follow in Grantsboro cemetery.
