HOBUCKEN - Fitzhugh Spencer Lupton, 85, died Thursday, January 20, 2011, 
at Britthaven of Pamlico.  
He was born in Aurora, NC on Oct. 20, 1925, to Mamie Whithurst Spencer and 
Robinson Lester Lupton.  
He grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He served in the U.S. Navy during World 
War II. In 1952, he became associated with the Virginia Tractor Company 
Caterpillar, Inc. working for eighteen years as a mechanic. He retired in 
1970 and moved with his family back to Hobucken, NC.  He was a member of 
the National Rifle Association, a lifetime member of the North Carolina 
and Virginia Wildlife Association and was a licensed C.B. radio operator.  
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 24, at Bryant 
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Fitzgerald officiating. Interment 
will be in Barnett cemetery.
