Floyd "Hutch" Eugene Smith, 64, of 3896 Kershaw Road, Oriental, died 
Sunday, July 12, 2009, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He was a graduate of the 1964 Class of Pamlico Central High School and was 
formerly employed in the logging and agricultural industries. He was a 
member of Holt's Chapel AME Zion Church, where he served as a trustee, 
usher, choir member, and past Men's Day chairperson.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Holt's 
Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. L. Shannon Sabsook officiating. 
Burial will be in the Ganus Cemetery, Arapahoe.
He is survived by his mother, Lovie L. Smith of Oriental; one daughter, 
Kristol Davis of Merritt; one sister, Hattie Davis of Oriental; two 
brothers, Lenwood Ray Smith of Oriental and Kenneth W. Smith of Grifton; 
one grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 9 
a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, at Oscar's Mortuary and at the church Saturday one 
hour prior to the service.
