Obituary of Frank Augustus Whorton ~ 1955

NEW BERN- Frank Augustus Whorton, 73, of Route 1, Oriental, died about 9:30
p.m. Wednesday at his home.
He was a son of the late Levi and Amanda Miller Whorton, and a lifelong
resident of Pamlico County.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs J.L. Riggs of Bayboro; Mrs W.D. Rawls of
Oriental; Mrs Harry Lewis of Annapolis, Md.; four sons, Ralph of Butner, Rufus
of Goldsboro, Willie of Ashville, Charlie of Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii;
two brothers, W.E. Whorton of Oriental; L.L. Whorton of Black Creek.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Trent Creek Free Will 
Baptist Church. The Rev N.D. Wiggs Jr and the Rev J.M. Waters will officiate,
with interment at the Blackwell Cemetery in Oriental.
