Fred Len Boyd, 86, passed away Friday, June 9, 2006 at Lower Cape Fear 
Hospice. Born in Pamlico County in 1920, his parents were Thomas Lacey Boyd
and Bessie Paul Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM on Monday at Scotts 
Hill Weslyn Methodist Church, Hwy. 17 in Scotts Hill. A funeral service, 
officiated by Rev. Curtis Campbell and brother-in-law, C. B. Caroon, will 
be held at 4:00 PM in the church with burial to follow in the church 
cemetery.
Fred is survived by his wife of 65 1/2 years, Nola Ross Boyd; daughter, 
Nola Ann Vogler of Wilmington, NC; sons, Murrell Lynn Boyd and wife, Karen 
of Wilmington, Danny Ross Boyd and wife, Brenda of Wilmington, Fred Timothy
Boyd and wife, Mary, of Hampstead, and Joe Boyd and wife, Robin of Scotts 
Hill; sister Reffell Pipkin of Grantsboro, NC; twelve grandchildren and 
eight great-grandchildren.
The family extends special thanks to the caring staff of Lower Cape Fear 
Hospice.
