ORIENTAL - Dr. George S. Duffie Jr., 76, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 
CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He retired from the South Carolina Conference United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Watson Duffie; two sons, Thomas Summers 
Duffie of Columbia, S.C. and Luther Boyd Duffie of Lexington, S.C.; one 
daughter, Alyson D. Price of W. Columbia, S.C.; one brother, L. Traywick 
Duffie of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, June "Sandiie" Griffeth of Mt. 
Pleasant, S.C.; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, in Lou Mac 
Park, Oriental, with the Rev. Keith Sexton officiating. In the case of 
inclement weather the service will be held at St. Peter the Fisherman 
Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends after the service at 
the park.  Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home & Crematory, Alliance.
