ORIENTAL - George Mack Thomas Jr., 59, 904 Midyette St., died Friday, July 
16, 2010, at Two Rivers HealthCare Trent Campus.
He was a native of Oriental and was formerly employed with Billy Cahoon in 
the logging industry. He served as a former trustee and was superintendent 
of Sunday school. He was treasurer of the Van Club.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pierce Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church,
Oriental, with the Rev. Annette Satterfield officiating. The interment will
follow in the Dozier Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Thomas of the home; three sisters, 
Virginia Thomas of Brooklyn, N.Y., Earn Patrick of New Bern and Suddie 
Thomas of Oriental.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his mother, 904 
Midyette St., Oriental.
Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Oscar's Mortuary and at 
the church one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Oscar's Mortuary Inc.
