GRANTSBORO - Gerry Leon Wooten passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 
Craven Regional Medical Center, on his 50th birthday.  
Mr. Wooten was a crane operator for Ritchie Brothers Crane Inc. and also 
worked for LBM Inc. at Cherry Point. He was a native of Pamlico County and 
the son of William and Dartha Pipkin Wooten of Grantsboro.  
He is survived by his wife, Deborah V. Wooten of Grantsboro; a daughter, 
Christina W. Taylor, and her husband, Reginald, of New Bern; two stepsons, 
Nathan Phillips of Ripley, Tenn., and E-3 Brandon Phillips of NAS, Oceana, 
Va.; two stepdaughters, Crystal Phillips of Minnesott Beach and Jessica 
Ann Phillips of the home.  
In addition, he is survived by two brothers, William Wooten and James 
Wooten, both of Alliance, and two sisters, Pamela Crawford of Bridgeton 
and Vicky West of New Bern. 
He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Annie Pipkin of Alliance, 
and two grandchildren, Tierra Taylor and Reginald L. Taylor II.  
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Cotten 
Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. Visitation 
will be Tuesday, June 17, 2008, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  
Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Wooten family.
