Obituary of Gertrude Cuthrell Wallace ~ 1990

Gertrude Cuthrell Wallace, 82, of the 1200 block of Riverside Ave., died 
Sept. 3, 1990, in her home.  
Mrs. Wallace, a native of Pamlico County, was the widow of James F. Wallace
Sr. 
She was a distributor of the News and Observer for 20 years. 
She was a member of Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church, Pocahontas Matoaca 
Council 10, Elizabeth City Garden Club and Museum of the Albemarle.  
Survivors include two daughters, Mattie W. Andrews of Chesapeake and Grace 
W. Knapp of Richmond; a son, James F. Wallace Jr. of Elizabeth City; two 
sisters, Laney Jenkins of Raleigh and Agnes Tucker of Salton City, Calif.; 
two brothers, Emmett Cuthrell and Leland Cuthrell, both of Chesapeake; 14 
grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.  
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel.  
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.
