Gladys Cowell Abbott

Gladys Cowell Abbott, 83, of Bayboro died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Craven 
Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Original Free Will 
Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Abbott, 
and one sister, Minnie Mai Spencer.  She is survived by one son, Johnny 
Abbott and wife, Jean, of Bayboro; four daughters, Marie Metts and husband,
Joe, of Reelsboro, Betty Ireland of Bayboro, Daisy Galland of Reelsboro and
Goldie Temple of Bayboro; four brothers, Carol A. Cowell Jr. of Oriental, 
Frank Cowell of Reelsboro, Steve Cowell of Washington state, and Tim Cowell 
of Reelsboro; two sisters, Laura Simpson of Stonewall and Connie Lewis of 
Rose Hill; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six 
great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 
19, at 10 a.m. at Celestial Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Yates 
officiating. The family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home on 
Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of Johnny Abbott,
215 Seawell Loop Road, Bayboro, N.C. 28515.   Arrangements by Bryant Funeral
