Obituary of Gladys Holton ~ 2004

Gladys Holton, 97, formerly of Pamlico County, died early Aug. 25, 2004, 
at Chesapeake Healthcare. 
She was a beloved, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all of her 
children, grandchildren and many others she touched throughout her 97 
years.  
She is survived by a daughter, Jean Ross of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three 
sons, Clarence Holton and wife Audrey of Texas, Jack Holton and wife 
Shirley of Norfolk and Mike Holton and wife Barbara of Atlanta, Ga.; two 
brothers, Jimmy Holton and wife Mavis of New Bern and retired U.S. Air 
Force Brig. Gen. William Holton of New Bern; a sister, Kathleen Bass of 
Raleigh; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with 
the Rev. Eddy Gabbert officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. 
Saturday, prior to the service.
