Obituary of Gladys "Sam" Glover Smith ~ 2005

Gladys "Sam" Glover Smith, 54, of Grantsboro, NC died May 2, 2005 at New 
Bern Health Care Center. 
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. 
Throughout all her illness she always made you smile. Graveside funeral 
will be held at 12:00 pm, May 5, 2005 in Rock of Zion Church Cemetery in 
Grantsboro with the Rev. Tommy Bulla officiating.  
She is survived by her husband, Robert Stanley smith, Jr.; four children, 
Cindy Bennett and her husband, Bud Bennett, of New Bern, Larry Glover and 
wife, Windy, of Arapahoe, Robert Smith, III and wife, Janice, of 
Grantsboro and Lisa Peele and husband, Robbie, of Aurora; three sisters, 
Bobbie Pettis of Selma, Minnie Harrell of South Carolina and Laverne Forne 
of Selma; five brothers, Ivy Cannon of Bridgeton, Nathan Cannon of South 
Carolina, Johnny Cannon of Jacksonville, NC, Frank Cannon of Morehead city 
and P.G. Cannon of Selma; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  
The family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home on Wednesday 
evening, May 4 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  
The family would like to thank Home Health of Pamlico and all of the 
caring doctors and nurses at Craven Regional Medical Center during our 
mother's illness. We especially would like to thank Clemant Ned, jr. for 
all he did for her. We love you and you will always be a part of our 
family.
