ARAPAHOE - Glenwood Thomas Tyndall, 83, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
He was a hunter and an avid golfer at Minnesott Golf and Country Club. He
was past master of the Bayboro Masonic Lodge No. 331 where he served as
treasurer for over 40 years. He retired from Cherry Point after 35 years
and the U.S. Navy Reserve as a chief petty officer. He was a veteran of
WWII, a member of Sudan Temple, a member of Stonewall United Methodist
Church and attended Trinity Methodist Church in New Bern.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Jean Lane Tyndall.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie Joyner Tyndall of the home; three sons,
Glenwood Tyndall Jr. and wife, Gloria, of Oriental, James David Tyndall
and wife, Kay Bennett, of Arapahoe and Michael Ted Tyndall of Atlantic
Beach; two brothers, Myron Tyndall and Willie Tyndall, both of Alliance;
five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, at Bryant
Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlene Pierce Guider officiating. Interment
to follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Bryant Funeral
Home and at other times at the son's home, 105 Apple Lane, Oriental.
